The Driveway Has Begun

After 12 months of mud and mess, the driveway paver project has begun. We can't tell you how excited we are to have this done -- it's been a dream for several years. We also are starting to work on the landscaping. Our neighbor's yard (they've been so patient with us!) that was taken over by the bulldozers and other heavy equipment has now been replanted with redbud, azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas and lots of mulch. Once the driveway is in, we'll finish the landscaping around the new construction and along the entrance way.

There' is still work to be done inside...finalizing the tile in the bathrooms and installing the tile in foyer, the wood beams in the belvedere (that's been a saga onto itself), sanding and finishing the floors and finally lots and lots of painting. It will be a quite the challenge to get it done by Thanksgiving!
