Shakedown Cruise to First Landing State Park
It's been back to back Shakedown cruises. Last weekend we sailed MerSea to Hills Creek on the Corrotoman for the RRYC Shakedown Cruise to the Zukor's lovely home. Then on Monday morning we climbed aboard MerSea 2 for a land shakedown. We drove 2 hours south to First Landing State Park which is nestled along the Atlantic Coast at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay. It is a pretty campsite and ideal for our first adventure. We biked the Cape Henry trail and then hiked the Osmanthus trail which winded through the bald cypress swamp. This park has lots of great trail options -- well worth checking out.
