As the storm rolled through, red flags went up along the beach signaling rip tide conditions. We hunkered down in MerSea 2 most of the day waiting out the rain and catching up on our Kindle reading. In the evening we got a burst of adventure and took MerSea into town for a pizza dinner. That meant braving the down pouring rain in order to put the bikes away, disconnect the electric and reposition the levelers. We were soaked in a matter of minutes. But we had a pleasant drive back into Port St. Joe to dine in the friendly atmosphere at Joe Mama's Pizza.
The restaurant reminded us of The Local in Irvington in part because gorgeous landscape photographs graced the walls similar to those of our neighbor Herb whose photos are on display at The Local.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the various Florida state parks. No wonder the park system has won the 'best state park system' award several years in a row.
After realizing that the 1st of March is only a weekend away, we opted to begin our journey towards home. Now were are snaking our way due North away from the coast and headed through Alabama and then on into Georgia.
