Life in the Chicago 'Burbs

The last three days we visited our friends Donelle and Alan and their kids, Kathryn and Henry,in Geneva, Illinois which is a suburb about an hour west of Chicago.  What a great little town!!!

The main street is dotted with fun stores and excellent restaurants all within a two block walk from their house.   Geneva flanks a river along which runs a gorgeous bike path.  Needless to say we hopped on the cycles and explored neighboring towns.

Another wonderful feature of Geneva is that it's on a direct rail line to Chicago.  Donelle graciously led us an a walking tour of the Windy City and treated us to yummy deep dish pizza pie at Due.

The weather has been splendid -- mid 70s and no humidity.

Thanks Donelle and Alan for a great visit!!!

Now we're heading North to Wisconsin.
