Waking up at the crack of dawn we were enroute by 6:15 am which was ideal as there was little traffic on the roads. Our plan was to get to Grand Teton early enough to secure a first-come, first-served campsite. Rumor was that sites were filling up before noon. Our plan worked as we arrived at 10:15 am just in time to grab a spot. What a relief because it meant we could stay put for a few days and take a much needed rest from the road.
Our route took us along the Wind River and through Moran Junction. The landscape quickly turned from grassland to mountains as the Rockies came into view.
