Day 19: Wine Country - Pinot Noir

Wine tasting in Willamette Valley was on Lance's bucket list so we spent yesterday tasting pinot noir at several vineyards.  Our friend and creek neighbor, Ron, had equipped us with a map and list of vineyards to visit.

The valley was beautiful.  It is similar to Napa although there is a lot of other agricultural activity going on, particularly hazelnut production.  Oregon accounts for over 95% of all hazelnut production in the U.S.

We visited Beau Freres, Stoller and Domaine Drouhin and then called it quits because it was so darn hot!  It was at least 103 degrees....Lance even saw a report indicating it had reached 109 degrees!
