Day 37 - Mile 5,913: Capitol Reef and Glen Canyon

We got up bright and early to leave Bryce Canyon to cruise toward and through Capitol Reef and Glen Canyon National Parks and onward for about a 300 mile journey ending in Blanding, UT.

We had no idea what to expect. It was often a stressful drive given the steep drop-off and very narrow (sometimes non-existant). But, oh what a drive it was!

The variety of landscape was just amazing. At times nothing less than stunning. Indescribable vistas as well as routes woven through deep canyons and nearby and distant views of mesas.

It was nearly overwhelming in that mile after mile was breathtaking. That also meant for a long day given how often we stopped to take in the views.

The only downside was that the fires raging in California, Idaho and Nevada made for some very noticable smog, otherwise the photos would have been spectacular!

It is hard to imagine anyplace more impressive than Southern Utah.
