Abingdon and the Barter Theater
After our ride down the Creeper Trail we headed to Abingdon which is a sweet town with a charming main street. We had a very pleasant two-night stay at the Inn on Town Creek. It was a residence turned into Inn. We had the downstairs suite and a lanai. The Inn is located in town on 4 landscaped acres. It was an ideal spot.
The first night we dined at the Martha Washington Inn and then saw "Road to Appomatox" at the Barter Theater. The next day we toured Heartwood which opened in July 2011. It is a showcase of SW VA arts & crafts. It is a lovely building and the displays are well done.
That evening we had a terrific dinner at Bella's.
