Autumn Colors
Yesterday as we headed west and the elevation increased the landscape became peppered with shades of autumn. It was beautiful even though it was raining cats and dogs. After stopping in Lexington to check out the campuses of Washington & Lee and VMI, we scooted down the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We spent the night in Blacksburg where VA Tech is located. It was the first time either Lance or I had seen the campus. What a gorgeous campus. Our inn was two blocks from the main campus so we walked the Fin around the many quads and lawns. The landscaping is especially nice with the burning bushes at every corner.
The Clay Corner inn was one block from the Huckleberry Trail which is a rails-to-trails conversion. It was an ideal walk especially after a 6 hour car ride. Fin was happy to stretch his legs and I was happy to burn off some calories.
