Jekyll Island

At 4.30 pm, we pulled into Jekyll Island just in time to walk the Fin on the beach and catch the sunset across the Jekyll River.  Neither of us had been here before but were pleasantly surprised.

We lucked out with our hotel.  It was a new upscale Hampton Inn right on the beach nestled among moss covered live oaks.  When I called the 800 number while we were in transit, the call center rep from the Philippines forgot to tell us about the 25 lb limit on dogs.  No wonder everyone's eyes opened wide when the Fin pranced into the lobby.  But he ingratiated himself with the check in staff who agreed to make an exception.

We dined at Latitude 31 where Lance had a yummy pasta with shrimp and andouille sausage.  I enjoyed the grilled wild Georgia shrimp.

After a beautiful walk on the beach this morning, we loaded up the car and are now about to cross the FL border.  Sanibel here we come!
