Mile 2,808: Old Forge, Central Adirondacks

The rumor is a big momma black bear and her two cubs were spotted last night walking down the lane just by the black truck across from our campsite.  Fortunately we were snuggly installed inside MerSea 2.

After a night in a commercial campground we've concluded that we  much prefer the "national/state park" scene!  The main draw of staying here last night was the electrical hook up and access to wifi.  The price we paid was being wedged in like sardines with the neighbor's campfire smoke blowing in our face, the kid's frisbee flying around nearly knocking out our wine glasses and listening to the fat guy on the other side tooting away during dinner.  Yes this is a far cry from the days when we traveled "relais et chateaux" style but we're still loving it and not ready to head home!!!

Later this morning we head to Oneida where we commence our tour of the Finger Lakes and visiting friends in Skaneatles Falls.
