On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again -
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way
And our way
is on the road again.
Goin' places that I've never been.
Seein' things that I may never see again
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again -
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends.
Insisting that the world keep turning our way
And our way
is on the road again.
- Willie Nelson
It was in the mid-20s when we left Church Prong on Saturday morning. As the latitude decreased the temperatures increased almost one for one. As we got into North Carolina ice was still blanketing the trees and the thermometer read 37 degrees. Into South Carolina it jumped to the mid-40s and by the time we arrived in Georgia late in the afternoon it reached 52.
I was thrilled because Lance was lobbying to stay in a hotel for fear that the temperatures would be too low. I said heck no, we bought this monster on wheels and we're going to take full advantage!
Thanks to our friends Tom and Brownie who equipped us with gourmet crackers and artichoke spread, we had the best appetizers around. This treat became our dinner as we were both too tired to think about cooking. We both slept great. The anchor didn't drag an inch!
