Meet Col. Craford

Frank arranged for a private tour of Portsmouth led by Col. Craford who was dressed in period costume and spoke with a British accent as a good loyalist at the time would do.  He was excellent -- full of good information along with a sharp humor.

Portsmouth was the largest port in colonial times and was known for having wide lanes to offload all the goods being shipped through the port without interrupting daily traffic patterns.

In the evening we headed to the Commodore theater to see the two Roberts (Downey and Duvall) in the Judge.  The Commodore is a large art deco cinema that serves dinner and drinks.   It was a good way to end our visit of quaint Portsmouth.  No doubt the RRYC cruisers will return for another visit in the near future.
