The day began and ended with Lewis and Clark. Our campground was located down the street from Frenchtown which has a very cute historic area dating back to when the French had settled this area. It also was the launching point for the Corps of Discovery 's trip westward to the Pacific coast.
We had a yummy breakfast at the Bike Stop Cafe.
Our initial plan was to stop mid-way across the state along the Katy Trial to bike a portion of the trail but it was so hot -- there was a heat advisory in effect with a heat index of 107 degrees! Instead we drove on to the other side of Missouri staying at Lewis and Clark State Park.
