Day 24 and 25 - Mile 4,363: Southern Oregon Coast

The Oregon coast continued to amaze with stunning scenery.  Given that it is peak season, we were super lucky to snag up some of the last few sites are Sunset Bay and then Humbug state parks.

Right next to Sunset Bay is Shoreacres park which used to be the estate of a former lumber baron during the early 1900s.  He would bring back plants from his various journeys delivering lumber across the ocean and then return to plant his latest find.  His garden was filled with exotic plants from all over the world.  Today the garden is part of the Oregon park system and is open throughout the year.  It was an unexpected delight!
