This town certainly has lots of charm...but also lots of fast moving traffic so we found ourselves riding down the sidewalks. After a stop at the ACME grocery, we reprovisioned for our overnight passage up the coast. We expect to leave mid-morning on Thursday and arrive in New York City on Friday mid-day where we'll stay for two days at Liberty Landing just across from the World Financial Center -- Stephanie's old stomping grounds!

Cape May Stopover
Here's a picture of what our weather radar showed as we motored down the Delaware Bay -- MerSea was flanked by storms along the southern and northern coasts. Luck was on our side as the storms disappeared as we reached the entrance to the Cape May canal. We followed the Cape May ferry into the canal and then motored our way to Utsch's Marina. It sure is shallow in Cape May! As we approached the marina, we bumped the bottom but were able to quickly get off the sand bar and make a second attempt into the marina. No doubt this town is for motor boaters. Fortunately we were able to find Clint at the Nor' Easter Canvas shop who was willing to repair our sail. As the sail was being repaired, we rode rental bikes around the town of Cape May.

Hi Lance and Steph, I'm flying to Wisconsin tomorrow and have been thinking about you and your trip north. Sorry to learn of the sail damage and I'm happy to learn you've had a nice time in charming Cape May. Good luck today. Arriving in NY's harbor will be exciting.
