Hiking into the Gorge
The Breaks is a 5 mile gorge that is 1,650 feet deep. The area is said to have been discovered by Daniel Boone prior to the revolutionary way. The hiking was rugged and steep. Fin led the way and did a great job although we did have to help and coax him over a couple of difficult rocky spots.
Fortunately we started the morning out with a generous portion of gravy and biscuits so we were fueled with plenty of calories to get us through this strenuous hike. The entire time Lance and I couldn't help but be on "copperhead" alert as it was optimal snake territory. I did stumble upon a small snake and screamed but luckily for him and for us it was only a garter snake.
