Day 15 - Mile 3,269: A Stunning Dive through Idaho

Wow, wow, wow...what a stunning day all around!  The morning drive through the Sawtooth forest yielded some spectacular views and the path was dotted with an exceptional number of state campsites at almost every turn.  We've got to give Idaho an A+++ for their state parks -- they are plentiful, well situated and clean!

The first surprise of the day was the discovery of hotsprings.  Our chosen route along the Payette River was lined with hot springs.  We stopped for lunch at Kirkham Springs.  Stephanie got on her swimsuit and jumped right in -- ah a slice of heaven!
She had the spring all to herself so it gave her an excuse for her first "selfie" of the trip.

The second surprise was our brief drive through Boise.  We were expecting it to be like Caspar, Wyoming but instead Boise had beautiful neighborhoods and gorgeously manicured lawns.  There was a lot of new construction and it was clear some careful urban planning had taken place.  It looks like a great place to live!

The third surprise of the day was our campsite at Lake Cascade.  It is right on the edge of the lake overlooking a beach.  We could not have asked for a better end to the day.
