Day 40 - Mile 6,765: Oklahoma Bound

Eager to make headway East, we opted for the interstate.  We made rapid time on Rt 40 whizzing  through New Mexico and across Texas passing through Amarillo.

With time on our side we drove onward to Oklahoma and found a state park near Clinton.  Once again the state park system came through serving up a nice site right on the water at Foss State Park.

The wind was howling!  It was blowing well into the 20s and gusting to at least 30 mph.  It was so windy that we dined inside for the first time in a while.  Thanks to our stop at Trader Joe's days before we dined on truffle infused ravioli matched with a perfect cab.  Lance had stashed some Cadbury ice cream bars in the freezer so we spoiled ourselves with dessert, too.
