Day 41 - Mile 7,105: Talimena Drive

Similar to the day before the wind was howling and gusting to at least 30 mph. This made for stressful driving on the interstate.  The large amount of freeboard on MerSea 2 acted like a sail and the steering wheel felt like a tiller.  Finally the winds calmed down as we reached the eastern part of Oklahoma which was surprisingly green.

Located along the Arkansas border is Talimena Drive, this area's answer to Skyline Drive.  There were few cars on this route so it was a peaceful drive.  We continued for about 50 miles crossing into Arkansas and landing at Queen Wilhemina State Park atop Arkansas' second highest mountain.

We dined at the park lodge where Lance had a very tasty rib-yeye.  The fog rolled in  blanketing the top of the mountain.
